MAVC program has worked on two components : the financial services’ development and the development of agricultural value chains. The program has been implemented through an approach called “Making Markets Work for the Poor” with attention to women and youth entrepreneurship. The results achieved are summarized in the second part of the report.

ICCO Cooperation has implemented the Microfinance, Agri-finance and Value Chain program in Burundi ( since October 2014. They have worked on the value chains’ development and financing for 16,000 small farmers. It aimed to connect 150,000 households to financial services provided by local MFIs. . On average, the achievement rate for physical goals is around 103% which is a very satisfactory achievement rate for goals and results in the sense that a rate of 90% is generally accepted as a good achievement rate.
